Sitting Service
Carers need a break. This is intense work, physically and emotionally draining. We can take time with an elderly person, allowing those who are usually caring to have the confidence to take a break. This is particularly important when one partner is caring for another. They are "on duty" 24x7 and that can take a toll. Carer burnout is real and can even lead to danger for the carer or the person being cared for. While we sit with his wife with dementia, one of our 92 year old customers regularly goes to the gym! This is really important for carer wellbeing. We can also provide an accompanying service, so we will travel with an elderly person to help ensure they reach their destination safely eg to visit family. We can also go along to a hospital appointment to help the person hear their name being called and to find their way around. With everyone's permission, we can convey any medical instructions given back to the family to ensure there will be compliance with the advice.
